KIGAM in the 55th CCOP Annual Session

Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM, President Dr. Bok Chul Kim) participated the 55th CCOP Annual Session in Chiang Mai, Thailand from November 2nd to 8th. During the Session, KIGAM signed the MOU with the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) at the opening ceremony as one of the well-cooperating examples between the CCOP Member Countries.

Since the CCOP Annual Meeting is well-known international Geoscience meeting, especially in Asia, KIGAM organized a couple of side meetings as the follow-up to the other multi-national projects during this international event. The side meetings were the afterwards of the ‘3rd Trilateral GeoSummit: Korea-China-Japan’ and urban geology multi-national collaboration with Korea, China, Japan, UK, and Finland.

President Kim emphasized that KIGAM’s activities at the international organizations such as CCOP will strengthen global Geoscience R&D cooperation together against urgently emerging Geo-issues that are occurring across the boarders.
