Multi-lateral MOU Signing Ceremony for ‘Critical Minerals’ Supply Chain Alliance

 

 Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM, President Dr. Pyeong-Koo Lee) jointly signed the MOU for ‘Critical Minerals Supply Chain Alliance’ with related other 4 organizations*.

*The Korean Society of Economic and Environmental Geology (KSEEG), *Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR), *Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP), *The Korean Society of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineers (KSMER)

 

The purposes of this MOU were (1) Establishing strategies for securing critical minerals and policy implementations (2) Creating stable supply chain conditions for domestic critical mineral demanding corporations (3)Developing technologies necessary to secure critical minerals and training professional manpower for practical measures.

 

President Lee of KIGAM said, “With this MOU, we successfully compiled together with the good wills and strategies for ‘Critical Minerals’ to secure supply chain by the resource development experts. And, KIGAM will do our best to contribute to Korea’s national developments and solving social problems in the field of Geology through the development and utilization of critical minerals.”

 

The five organizations, led by KIGAM, will prepare strategy/policy reports and long/short-term road maps through the regular holding of establishing critical minerals supply chain policy forums. In addition, it plans to establish a permanent committee through investment/financial support, operational support, and expansion of the general support organizations, and to strengthen the support of customized strategies for Critical Minerals demanding companies.
