Celebration of 2022 World Water Day in Jeju Island, Korea

Celebrating World Water Day 2022, Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, in partnership with the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), will organize an international groundwater symposium on “Groundwater: Adapting to a New Normal” on 21 March 2022, in Jeju Island, Republic of Korea.

 


 As a part of the symposium, we invite you to the Groundwater Talk Show on “Evolving Roles of Groundwater in Addressing New Challenges”, which will be held between 10:00~12:00 on 21 March 2022 (GMT + 9 hours). During this event, six senior groundwater experts worldwide will gather and share their experiences, observations, and perspectives on the emerging groundwater issues, role of groundwater sciences adapting to new normal, and the future of groundwater sciences that reflects our time.

   

 

This plenary session will be on livestream through YouTube. Both Korean and English services will be provided through real-time interpretation. 

 

 

The topics of the talk show include: 
- Groundwater and new normal: how does it affect our society and groundwater consumption
- Does the Pandemic affect groundwater security
- Global climate change and groundwater security
- Digital transformation and groundwater sciences
- Valuing groundwater through science and technology
- The role of groundwater nutrient management for sustainable integrated water management
