PGA can be displayed in near real time by RTICOM2 using MOIS’s QSCD20 data for monitoring earthquake intensity

PGA (PEAK GROUND ACCELERATION) CAN BE DISPLAYED IN NEAR REAL TIME BY RTICOM2 USING MOIS (MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR AND SAFETY)’S QSCD20 DATA FOR MONITORING EARTHQUAKE INTENSITY

We have been developing RTICOM2 (Real Time Intensity COlor Mapping tool version 2) for the monitoring of PGA (Peak Ground Acceleration) over Korea using every-second data, QSCD20 (Quick Seismic Characteristic Data based on 20 sps). RTICOM2 can be automatically triggered by EEW (Earthquake Early Warning System) events and displays earthquake information and dynamic PGA status and stacked PGA in near real time for rapid emergency response. This version supports users in replaying, managing previous earthquake PGA data and controlling outlier stations using surface wave travel time. We expect RTICOM2 to help emergency officers of local governments and public authorities make rapid decisions and responses.
