ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF GEOSCIENCE DATA REPOSITORY (GDR) SYSTEM

The Geoscience Data Center has built the Geoscience Data Repository (GDR) system to facilitate the systematic collection, management, storage, and utilization of geoscience data with the goal of providing highly reliable data resources capable of immediately responding to current needs. The GDR system has various functions for research data management including IGSN networking, data history management, data registration status, and statistics aggregation. The development of GDR is for CCOP member countries, as is the improvement of user convenience functions. The Geodata Journal System was designed and homepage was constructed; Geodata Journal No. 1 was published. Through analysis of the current status of KIGAM data classification system and lists, we derived data management guidelines and service strategies for an open geodata platform, suggested an open geodata platform target model and direction for improvement, and suggested platform construction strategy and direction. In addition, the establishment of a plan and implementation of a road map for the open geodata platform were established. Finally, the open geodata platform promotion strategy was established by calculating the resources and budget required for platform construction.
