MINERAL RESOURCE BASE TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH

The Mineral Resource Base Technology Research Team is conducting five detailed studies to develop technologies for evaluating existing resources (resource evaluation based on 3D orebody modeling and advancement of North Korean mineral resource DB and potential evaluation) and improving exploration prediction.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

• Resource evaluation based on 3D orebody modeling

• Advancement of North Korean mineral resource DB and potential evaluation

• Application exploration of mineral resource exploration technologies and advancement of North Korean mineral resource genetic models

• Establishment of mineral resource exploration technology using LiDAR and hyperspectral camera

• Application exploration of airborne electric exploration system and establishment of electric conductivity mapping technology

MAIN RESULTS IN 2019

• Establishment of 3D platform-based resource evaluation technology by converging on-site exploration data, geophysical exploration data, and deposit genetic model and applying machine learning to Hongcheon REE area

• Derivation of potential evaluation factors through analysis of geological and mineralization relationships between major deposits in North Korea

• Advancement studies on genetic models of Geomduk Pb-Zn deposit and Daeheung Mg deposit

• Lidar 3D terrain and geological mapping of mine shaft and development of magnesite exploration algorithm using hyperspectral camera

• Advancement of Korean airborne electric exploration system and application exploration in Kookjeon Pn-Zn deposit
