Formation of Minerals
Minerals are formed under a variety of conditions. When magma cools and solidifies, minerals can form sequentially. They can also form due to weathering of existing rocks, or they can form by precipitation of dissolved chemicals from water. Another way of mineral formation is metamorphism under high pressure and temperature.
