Hybrid Groundwater Environment Monitoring System
HYBRID GROUNDWATER ENVIRONMENT MONITORING SYSTEM KIGAM

The Hybrid Groundwater Environment Monitoring System (HyGEMS) was installed to monitor, analyze, and predict the effects of climate and environmental changes on groundwater resources. HyGEMS consists of a groundwater monitoring well, data management devices, and 21 sensors for measuring elements related to weather, soil and the groundwater environments. A total of eight stations were set up, with two at coastal areas and six at the earthquake monitoring stations of KIGAM. HyGEMS measures all elements every ten minutes and measures the groundwater level every second separately to analyze the relationship between earthquakes and groundwater. All of the data obtained are transmitted remotely in real time to the Integrated GDE Information System server at KIGAM.
