Mineral Processing & Metallurgy Research Center
The Mineral Processing and Metallurgy Research Center is primarily responsible for developing extractive metallurgy technologies for both domestic and international mineral resources. The center conducts industry-linked pilot demonstrations and is working to expand the application areas of the technologies.
Major Activities
-
Development of innovate efficient technologies on extractive metallurgy for low-grade ores of critical minerals in response to decline in high-grade ores
· Critical Minerals : Lithium, Graphite, Nickel, Molybdenum, Tin, Titanium, Rare Earth Elements - Development of smart mineral processing technologies by integrating digital technologies, as well as pre-treatment technologies including crushing and separation of other resources.
- Technology transfer of mineral processing and metallurgy for domestic vanadium ores
- Technology transfer of separation and purification processes for rare earth elements
- Technology transfer of metal recovery from spent Li-ion batteries
- Technical feasibility assessment services for the development of international critical mineral resources
