KOREA INSTITUTE OF GEOSCIENCE AND MINERAL RESOURCES

Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) and Instituto Geol?gico Minero y Metal?rgico (INGEMMET) renewed MOU on March 13, 2009.

Along with Mr. Young Hak Kim, the deputy minister of Ministry of Knowledge & Economy (MKE) and Dr. Ho Wan Chang, the president of KIGAM, visited  Peru from March 11th to March 18th 2009 for carrying out successful energy diplomacy.

Previously, the two institutes were bounded on MOU that had signed on July 31, 2003. For the past 5 years, the friendships and collaborations of the two institutes had been stronger than ever before by numerous times of exchanges of scientists, co-jointed researches, and seminars.

Both the presidents, Dr. Ho Wan Chang and Ing. Walter Toribio Casquino Rey, are inunanimous agreements that the genuine good deeds of the two institutes enlightened toward a better and brighter future for the next generations by elongating the MOU.

The MOU contains as followings:

  1) Exchange of geological and mineral resources information 
 2) Collaboration on individual research program of mutual interest 
     related to geology and mineral resources.

  3) Exchange visits of individual scientists

  4) Cooperation of scientific and technical information

  5) Joint organization of seminars, conferences and workshops aspriate
