Dr. Kyu Han Kim (on the right) and MS. Susana Vilca Achata (on the left) signed the FRA for conducting joint research in the field of geology and minerals, and signed SRA to figure out the genetic mechanism of the copper mineralized zone in the South-eastern area of Peru. The signing ceremony was successfully finished, with Mr. Yoon Sang-jick, the Minister of Trade, Industry & Energy present at the meeting.

The signing ceremony was held in the Sheraton Lima hotel, Peru. It is expected that the agreements will lay the groundwork for more solid cooperation between KIGAM and INGEMMET through activities such as exchange of related technologies and joint exploration in the copper mineralized zone of South-eastern area in Peru. Also, joint study on ore genesis will be conducted as well.

The FRA/SRA signing between KIGAM and INGEMMET aims to strengthen the bilateral partnership in the mineral resources sector and create business opportunities for both countries. The signing will lead to joint seminars and workshops, with exchange of experts as well.

The SRA includes the consensus of KIGAM-INGEMMET about joint exploration in porphyry/epithermal copper-gold mineralized zone and joint study on ore genesis. It is expected that this cooperative work will help to figure out the genetic mechanisms of copper-gold mineralization in Peru and find areas with mineral resources potential.

Plus, the FRA/SRA will help increase R&D capabilities for both organizations and support Korean private companies that are interested in investment and development regarding mineral resources in Peru. In order to draw their attention, KIGAM is planning to provide Korean private companies with information on Peru's mineral resources.

Along with the delegation, Dr. Kyu Han Kim, President of KIGAM, visited INGEMMET in the early morning of April 20 and gave a presentation about KIGAM's research status and advanced technologies. Also, participants from KIGAM and INGEMMET discussed the FRA and SRA in a detailed manner.
