1ST OK Forum SHAKE* in 2018:

The Way of KIGAM Employees Communicate Each Other with FUN!!

Korea Institute of Geoscience & Mineral Resources (KIGAM) had 2018 1st OK Forum SHAKE on January 26th 2018. The KIGAM President Dr. Joong-Ho Synn believes that good communication with one another brings better R&D results. And, KIGAM needed just for the communicational arena. 『OK Forum SHAKE』 is an event that all KIGAM employees can have communicate each other freely. The event is usually prepared by each division in rotation on every 4th week of a month at 4pm.

The event started with KIGAM’s monthly 『HAPPY TALK』 that is a Birthday Party for all KIGAM employees with that particular month birthdays. At the 『HAPPY TALK』, every participants congratulate each other, then the priorly custom-ordered books were distributed as birthday gifts by Dr. Synn.

The 2018 1st OK Forum SHAKE was prepared by exceptionally 3 divisions combined: (1) Global Cooperation Division; (2) Administration & Management Division; (3) R&D Offices directly belonged to Vice President. The event theme was to experience 『Past & Present Entertainment Culture』. The discussion first began with the importances of 『How Well We Rest & Play』. As to experience past entertainment, all kinds of traditional Korean games and old arcades were played. At the same time, the present entertainment was introduced that linked with the waves of the 4th Industrial Revolution such as Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilized games and user-friendly virtual reality R&D outcomes.

Dr. Synn and all KIGAM employees strongly believe that such events tears down the walls between the divisions, and communicate better among researchers.
