New Year Greetings at KIGAM

Dr. Joong-Ho Synn, President of Korea Institute of Geoscience & Mineral Resources (KIGAM), had a new year’s opening ceremony with all KIGAM executives, researchers, and staffs attended at the auditorium on January 2 2018.

Dr. Synn emphasized that this year KIGAM celebrates the centennial year for counting KIGAM’s origination. He also said that 100 years of history is our great legacy and should become the cornerstone for the next 100 years. Bearing that proud in our minds, we have great potential for out reaching innovative challenges and creative imaginations for grand plans.

As the first official event, the 6 Research Divisions Directors made series of presentations for introducing yearly plans and academic resolutions at the kick-off meeting. And finally, 2018 KIGAM Budget Management Plan was delivered.

After the auditorium event, the ceremony was continued at the KIGAM cafeteria where all the staffs share words of blessings to one another, and perform a hand shake relay marathon for wishing every one another’s health and goodness for the new year. And, it has been KIGAM’s unique New Year tradition. On this special New Year event, All KIGAM staffs enjoyed mutual greetings and heartful communications with each other for decades.
