Inauguration of the Fourth NST Chairperson:
The Farewell to the KIGAM Presidency
Dr. Bok Chul Kim has been served as the 20th President of Korea Institute of Geoscience & Mineral Resources (KIGAM) for the past three years, and now he is appointed to serve as the 4th Chairperson of the National Research Council of the Science & Technology* (NST) for the next three years until July 2024.
Dr. Kim joined KIGAM in 1988 as a geologist, and he actively participated in numerous outstanding R&D projects as a researcher as well as contributed his management skills by serving leading positions for more than 30 years.
Since his new term as the Chairperson of the NST begins on July 26 2021, KIGAM had the farewell ceremony for Dr. Kim leaving the KIGAM Presidency.
It was a good and honorable farewell, and we look forward to seeing his continuous success at the NST.

*National Research Council of the Science & Technology (NST) supports Korea’s national research projects and policies in the field of science and technology. NST manages 25 Government-funded Research Institutes (GRI)s as the higher supervising organization under the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT).
