KIGAM held the ‘Presentation on the Results of Exploration on Potential Lithium Deposits in South Korea’ in Daejeon and Seoul on July 10th and 11th respectively.

Dr. Pyeong-Koo Lee, the President said, “As a result of investigating prospective lithium deposits over the past four years, we confirmed the possibility of securing lithium resources in two regions, Uljin and Danyang.”

He also added “The results of this exploration are significant in that we break new ground for the supply chain of critical minerals that had previously been dependent on overseas sources. We will continue to conduct the exploration of domestic mineral deposits in step with the exploration and development of overseas critical minerals such as in Kazakhstan.”

KIGAM plans to continue its investigation by utilizing 3D geological modeling data derived from data conducted to date and 4D resource exploration technology developed through artificial intelligence-based convergence analysis to explore factors of economically viable domestic lithium deposits.
