DEVELOPMENT AND FIELD APPLICATION OF A DEEP ELECTRICAL SUBSURFACE SURVEY SYSTEM

We developed a very fast electrical survey system with distributed high-resolution measurements and a stand-alone transmitter using DGPS synchronization and single-core survey cables. The data acquisition system (DAS) includes 24 units of 32-bit analog-to-digital receivers and a 900V/3A CVCC transmitter. Field applications were carried out successfully in the Taebaek area (1 km depth) and on Jeju Island (2.4 km depth) using a DAS prototype. Future study will focus on a deeper survey exploration system at depths up to 16 km.
