STUDY OF DETAILED SHALLOW MARINE SUBSURFACE STRUCTURES KIGAM

We carried out an ultra-high-resolution 2D/3D seismic survey over an area of 10 km x 10 km in the southwestern part of the East Sea and found several NE-SW trend faults and fractures (some faults extended nearly to the seafloor) which had developed in this area. Through detailed mapping and a seismic attribute analysis, we determined that these faults are left-lateral strike-slip faults with a lateral offset of approximately 2,000 m ongoing since the late Miocene (Fig. 1).
