SEISMIC IMAGING TECHNOLOGY THROUGH DEPTH PROCESSING AND ANISOTROPY ANALYSIS KIGAM

Exact seismic depth profiling provides more realistic and more crucial information about reservoirs or any underground area of interest. KIGAM utilizes the migration velocity analysis (MVA) technique with actual datasets to obtain exact seismic depth profiles. MVA is a seismic data processing technique that generates more feasible subsurface velocity structures in the depth domain. The MVA workflow involves building a starting velocity model, sorting data into common offset gathers, undertaking Kirchhoff prestack depth migration (PSDM), sorting into common reflection point (CRP) gathers, selecting the residual moveout (RMO), and updating the velocity model. The workflow is applied and tested with the marine seismic data (Fig. 1). From results with this technique, KIGAM found that our MVA workflow can be successfully applied to field datasets to generate feasible velocity structures at depths of interest. For high-quality seismic imaging, an anisotropic parameter analysis workflow was devised using a three-term NMO technique.
